South America, Colombia, Medellín is a city of five million people in a zone where biodiversity is referred to as "megadiversity". The scientific definition of megadiversity includes over 70 percent of all land-living species (plants, animals, etc.) that live in such a zone. Most of them are in the tropics. The city of Medellin is a steadily growing system of buildings and a growing population, although the natural resilience of the megadiverse can be felt and seen in many places. © 2018 Martin Specht / Agentur Focus
