It's a mould cheese of a strong taste comparable with the French Roquefort. The cheese made of cow-, sheep- and goat-milk is pressed into loafs which are smoked over the fire before they are brought to a rock cave of a permanent temperature of exactly 4¡ Celsius. Here the Penicillium fungi bring about the development of the blue veins, the sharpness and the distinctive taste.Die Leute aus Bulnes sagen, er sei der älteste und beste Käse der Welt und die Franzosen hätten das Rezept geklaut: der Cabrales-Käse. Wind and weather shaped and polished the rocks. In this rough, up to 2600 meter towering rocks lies the commencement of the Spanish history. And from the Picos of Europe started the Reconquista, the war of reconquest the territories once lost to the Moores. Blick auf eine kleine Hütte. Im Hintergrund sieht man den 2509 hohen Picu Uriellu auch Naranjo de Bulnes genannt. Wind und Wetter haben die Gesteinsmassen geformt und geschliffen. In den rauhen bis zu 2600 Meter hochragenden Felsmassen nahm Spaniens Geschichte ihren Anfang. Europa, Spanien, Asturien, The fighter for freedom, Prince Pelayo, sculptured in stone, is pointing out to the church of pil-grimage of Covadonga. The resistance movement against the Moores once started under the Sänger-ship of Prince Pelayo. In 1718, a muslim troop was conquered near the caves of Covadonga. The defeated moores fled through the mountains and when they passed Bulnes - the story goes - they were buried by a fall of rocks. To render hommage to the Holy Virgin to whom the miraculous rescue is attributed, a chapel was built in the cave of Covadonga, ever since a place of pilgrimage. Der in Stein gemeißelte Freiheitskämpfer Fürst Pelayo zeigt auf die Wallfahrtskirche von Covadonga. In der Ebene sammelte sich unter Pelayos Anführung der Widerstand gegen die Mauren. 1718 wurde ein Trupp der Mauren bei den HÜhlen von Covadonga besiegt. Die Geschlagenen flüchteten durch das zerklüftete Gebirge, passierten Bulnes und wurden, so geht die Sage, unter einem Felssturz begraben. Die Jungfrau Maria, der die wundertätige Rückendeckung zugeschrieben wurde, erhielt eine Kapelle in der HÜhle von Covadonga, seither ist sie Wallfahrtsort für Patrioten und fromme Pilger. © 2008 Christoph Otto / Agentur Focus

From a height of some 60 m the crane operator has to place the containers with extreme accuracy onto the cargo deck of the moving ship. The power of currents, winds and the necessary energy of the ship's propellers is calculated by the ships computer. It precisely controls the engines so that this huge supply vessel remains where it is - it is 'parking' in the sea. Enabling the containers to still be lowered onto the cargo deck even when the sea is very rough.
